(1982-85). He was on the faculty at The Ohio State University
from 1988 to 1994. In Fall, 1994, he joined Stanford and focuses
his research on life-cycle engineering and robust design for
quality. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 refereed
articles. He currently serves as chair of the ASME Computer
and Information in Engineering Division and is an associate
editor of Journal of Mechanical Design (ASME) and AI in Engineering
(Elsevier).
