Research Interests

Life-cycle Engineering, Design for Manufacturability, Design Optimization
Kos has three years of industry experience at Toshiba Corporation (1982-85). He was on the faculty at The Ohio State University from 1988 to 1994. In Fall, 1994, he joined Stanford and focuses his research on life-cycle engineering and robust design for quality. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 refereed articles. He currently serves as chair of the ASME Computer and Information in Engineering Division and is an associate editor of Journal of Mechanical Design (ASME) and AI in Engineering (Elsevier).
