The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for tenure-track assistant and/or untenured associate professor faculty position openings. We give high priority to the overall originality and promise of each candidate’s work rather than the candidate’s area of specialization within mechanical engineering.
We seek applicants relevant to any area of mechanical engineering including, but not limited to, controls, energy systems and sciences, biomechanics and biological transport, propulsion systems and sciences, and nanotechnology. Multiple appointments are possible.
An earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue a program of research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching are required. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research.
