Open to the Stanford community
Author and educator Barry Katz will be giving the keynote lecture “Design Thinking & Design Practice” for the Hasso Plattner Design Thinking Research Program.
“Design Thinking” has begun to migrate from the groves of academe and out into the world of professional practice. Not merely design consultancies and internal corporate design groups are practicing it, but so, also, are a growing number of organizations from unexpected quarters. This talk will survey the general contours of Design Thinking today as it bridges — or fails to bridge — the divide between town and gown.” Mr. Katz has recently published the book “Make It New,” which takes a historical look at the role of Design and its interface with Engineering through the development of the Silicon Valley region.
The lecture is free, open to the Stanford community, and we hope you might join us.
