Our expectation on interactions with products we are using every day is continuously evolving and most of the time not met by our cars. Manufacturers often claim to offer a great driving experience but focus less on the driver’s experience as a whole. “The 4th Screen in Your Life” provides insights into a more lifestyle-centric approach to interactions with vehicles. Using non-automotive examples around topics like intuitive and smart interactions it highlights common trends on interaction models that can and should be applied to vehicles.
As the Experience Design Lead at Tesla Motors, Thorsten is focussed on developing engaging interactions around driving, charging and owning electric vehicles. He gained his experience through senior roles at leading digital agencies like AKQA and Tribal DDB in Sydney, Los Angeles and New York before moving the Bay Area. The type of projects he worked on ranked from digital communication campaigns, experiential design installations to interactive product experiences. With a master’s degree in Business Information Systems from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart and over ten years experience, Thorsten is always passionate about finding creatively engineered solutions for a sustainable lifestyle.
