If you would like to meet with faculty or visit our facilities, we strongly suggest you make appointments, and do so as far in advance as possible.

Where are the Design Group faculty and administrative offices?

Most of the Design Group offices are in Building 550 (see map), also known as Peterson Laboratory. The street address is 416 Escondido Mall, but the building entrance closest to the Design Group offices is on Panama Mall, across from the Mechanical Engineering Research Lab (MERL). Faculty office numbers are listed on their profiles.

Where are the Design Group Labs?

Many of our labs are in buildings other than 550. Visit the Design Group Offices & Labs page for information about the lab or building you're interested in.

Parking

The Roble Field Garage and the Via Ortega Garage are convenient to Building 550. You can find information about Visitor Parking at the Parking & Transportation website.

To Building 550 from the Roble Field Garage or the Via Ortega Garage

Walk east down Panama Street, which becomes Panama Mall. Continue past the Green Earth Sciences Research Building, the Durand Building, and the Mitchell Building (on your left). Building 550 is the next one on your left. MERL and Center for Design Research (CDR) are on your right. The map below shows you both Peterson Laboratory (red square) and visitor parking (yellow squares with green “P”).
