Battle of the ’bots – a springtime rite of passage for Stanford mechanical engineering students

Mechanical engineering students built robots and put them to the test in the final project for Introduction to Mechatronics.

After weeks of lectures, students in ME 210, Introduction to Mechatronics, face a final project like none other: Build a robot from scratch and put it to battle. This year’s challenge, dubbed the ‘Botcoin Bonanza’ and held in front of hundreds of cheering fans, required ’bots to quickly collect and distribute coins to display students’ mastery of several engineering disciplines.
