The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University ( invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor). We are seeking exceptional applicants who will conduct a program of high-impact research, contribute to an innovative undergraduate curriculum, and develop specialized graduate courses. We will consider candidates in all areas of mechanical engineering, including but not limited to fluid mechanics, energy systems, optical diagnostics, environmental sustainability, advanced manufacturing, human-centered design, human health, and emerging areas of the field.

An earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue a program of research, and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching are required. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research.
